Trulli, Sassi, pottery, and more
Puglia is home to some of the most unique and picturesque towns in Italy, and this itinerary will take you on a journey to experience them all. Start by exploring the tiny town of Alberobello, famous for its traditional Trulli huts, before moving on to Matera, a UNESCO city with breathtaking “Sassi” houses carved into stone.
In Grottaglie, you’ll learn the art of crafting ceramics, a long-standing tradition in this pottery town. Then, it’s time to take a dip in the natural pools and beaches of the rocky Adriatic coastline before visiting the easternmost city of Italy, Otranto.
Next, visit Gallipoli, a beautiful city with a rich history dating back to Roman times and famous for its fishing and trading culture. Finally, take in the stunning scenery of Ostuni, known as the “white city” for its whitewashed buildings set against a backdrop of olive groves, vineyards, and the blue Adriatic Sea.
This itinerary captures the essence of Puglia and will leave you amazed by the region’s charm and beauty.
