Guided Tour of Lecce with Street Food Tasting
Lecce, or the “southern Florence”, is a must-see attraction in Apulian region. And the best way to explore this city is to plan the tour with a local guide. During this tour you will learn about Leccese traditions, patrons, and superstitions and taste the famous local snacks.
You will see the amphitheater and the Cathedral Square as well as the main cathedral of Lecce, the 72-meter bell tower and the seminary. You will visit the church of St. Irene where you will learn to “read” the symbols of the southern Baroque. You will also see the Basilica of the Holy Cross — the most beautiful temple in Puglia, located in the former Jewish quarter. The tour is followed by tasting of typical street food of the city, including rustico, pastichotto cake, and caffe leccese.
